Avaya Intros Updated UC Tool for Smallest SMBs

Business communications provider Avaya announced the release of IP Office 6.0, a unified communications solution targeted at businesses with fewer than 20 employees. The product offers collaboration tools such as voice, instant messaging, presence and video. IP Office 6.0 also adds video softphone capability, PHONE+ reports.

According to Avaya, IP Office 6.0 is 40 percent more affordable than its previous offerings. This was done by replacing the multiple Flash card setup with a system that requires just a single SD card to support analog, digital and IP devices, says V3.co.uk. For 10 users, the price is down  $2,000 to $4,300. The Essential edition, however, which offers basics such as call routing, caller ID and voice mail, has dropped in price from $795 to $50.
