Cisco, Tandberg Offer Preview of Product Roadmap

Cisco and Tandberg provided a number of details about the integrated product portfolio that will be on offer after Cisco closes its deal to purchase Tandberg. The companies are anticipating the finalization of the deal to occur in the first half of 2010.

Cisco plans to retain a number of Tandberg's flagship videoconferencing offerings and will integrate a good portion of Tandberg's technology into its own telepresence and video product lines, according to ChannelWeb. Product lines that will emerge between the two companies are: Immersive TelePresence, Multipurpose Room Systems, Personal Systems, Platform Portfolio, Infrastructure and Telepresence as a Service.

Tandberg has also announced that it has successfully achieved and demonstrated telepresence interoperability between Tandberg Telepresence and Cisco CTS 3000. This adds Cisco TelePresence solutions to Tandberg's list of third-party solutions that can seamlessly interoperate with its technology while maintaining the three-screen high-definition telepresence experience, says Taiwan News.
